OLD TIME MOVIE SHOW programme
There will be 3 different first halves so if anyone comes back for
different shows they won't see the same stuff as before.
Friday Night 7pm - Laurel and Hardy "Way
out West" The boys are charged with the task of delivering
a deed to a mine to a girl who they have never met and end up giving
it to the wrong person and in attempting to get it back, all hell
breaks loose with the resulting mayhem which only these two can
create.
Saturday 2pm Matinee - " The Bells
of St.Marys" starring Bing Crosby and Ingrid Bergman
in a moving and at times humorous story about a priest and a nun
who have the task of running a Catholic school. Brilliant script
where Father O'Malley has his ways of administration and the nuns
have another. Beautiful story with some tender moments. Will bring
back many memories for some of the older audience.
Saturday Evening 7pm - "The Egg and
I" - Starring Fred McMurray and Claudette Colbert
in a humorous tale about a chap who, on their wedding night informs
his new bride that he has quit his job and bought a rundown chicken
farm. Great story as new bride tries to come to grips with 'country
living' with all it's hardship. But life is made a bit more interesting
by the neighbours who comprise Ma and Pa Kettle and their multitude
of kids and also a lone wolf woman who owns the adjoining chicken
farm and takes a fancy to dear Fred. A must see on this fine list
of cinematic brilliance.
